Hotels
Banyan Tree Mayakoba
We’d love for you to stay with us at Banyan Tree Mayakoba, where all wedding events will take place, and be part of the full weekend experience. To make things easier, we’ve secured a room block with special rates for Friday through Sunday nights. To access these rates, you'll need to book using the link below.
The room block expires on December 1, and we recommend booking early to ensure you get your preferred room type. After reserving, the Banyan Tree team will follow up directly via email and can assist with any specific requests, including extending your stay. We’ve also secured our special rates for Thursday and Monday nights for anyone looking to stretch out the weekend.
Fairmont Mayakoba
In addition to Banyan Tree, we've also secured a small number of rooms at Fairmont Mayakoba with special rates for Friday through Sunday nights. To access these rates, you'll need to book using the link below (coming soon).
The room block expires on December 1, and we recommend booking early to ensure you get your preferred room type. We’ve also secured our special rates for three days prior and post for anyone looking to stretch out the weekend.
Getting Around
Hotel Transportation
For a smooth and stress-free arrival and departure, we highly recommend arranging a private car transfer through Mayakoba ahead of time. While taxis and Ubers are available just outside the terminal, pricing tends to be similar to a private transfer, and the experience can feel a bit overwhelming with the crowds, negotiating, and varying levels of service.
To book a private car, visit the URL below or email reservationsbt@mayakobaexperiences.com.
Event Transportation
All wedding events will take place at Banyan Tree Mayakoba. Whether you're staying at Banyan Tree or the neighboring Fairmont or Rosewood, everything you'll need for the weekend is right on property. Guests can easily move around and between the resorts via golf cart, bicycle (each guest staying on property will receive one), or a scenic gondola ride.
If you plan to take a golf cart - especially during busy times like meals or going to one of our events - we highly recommend requesting one at least 30 minutes before your desired arrival time. It can take around 15 minutes for a cart to arrive and another 10 minutes to travel to your destination.
A rental car isn’t necessary unless you're planning to explore off-property.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where is Riviera Maya?
Riviera Maya is a stretch of Caribbean coastline on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, just south of Cancun. Known for its white sand beaches, turquoise water, and lush jungle, it’s home to some of Mexico’s most beautiful resorts - including Banyan Tree Mayakoba, where all the wedding festivities will take place.
Do I need a passport to travel to Mexico?
Yes, a valid passport is required to travel to Mexico. Please ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates. If it expires before that, you’ll need to renew it before the trip.
What's the weather like?
Late January is one of the best times to visit Riviera Maya - warm, sunny days and comfortable evenings. Daytime temperatures are typically in the low 80s, with evenings staying in the low 70s. Humidity is low and rain is rare, so we are counting on beautiful weather all weekend long!
What's the dress code?
Below is a guide to help you dress comfortably and appropriately for each event throughout the weekend. Please reserve white and cream for the bride. All other colors – including red – are absolutely welcome.
Shabbat: Resort Cocktail
Attire should be polished yet relaxed and breezy. Ladies should consider flowy dresses or coordinated sets with dressy sandals or heels. Men should opt for button-down shirts with lightweight slacks or trousers, loafers or dress sandals. This event will take place at Sands Beach Club, an open-air restaurant with hard-surfaced flooring.
Pool Party: Poolside Chic
Swimsuits with a cover-up are perfect, or you can opt for an easy sundress or matching set. Flat sandals, slides, or bare feet are all welcome.
Sangeet: Chic Indian/Indo-Fusion Attire
Chic Indian/Indo-Fusion refers to a mix of Indian-inspired elements with modern silhouettes – think flowy skirts and tops, wide-leg pants with an embellished blouse, or any colorful cocktail attire. Traditional Indian lehengas/saris for women and kurta sets/sherwani sets for men are welcome and encouraged, but not required as long as your look feels celebratory! Below are links to suggested shops. The event will be held outdoors on a hard-surfaced terrace, so dressy heels, sandals, or loafers are all appropriate. Just be prepared to dance!
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to text Kavita! (240) 855-2046
Wedding: Formal
This is the most formal event of the weekend. Women are encouraged to wear a full-length gown, midi dress, or refined cocktail attire with heels, sandals, or dressy flats. Men should wear a suit with a tie or bowtie and dress shoes. The ceremony will take place outdoors, followed by a reception in a covered open-air space. Both have hard flooring.
